P.H.S.L.
Plymouth Rock Lacrosse was founded with the goal of spreading the tradition of the sport of lacrosse to the youth of Plymouth, Massachusetts. Our organization has grown and now operates as P.H.S.L (Plymouth High Schools Lacrosse) Fundraising Committee, Ltd. We support the combined Plymouth North and Plymouth South High School Boys and Girls Lacrosse Teams. The 2009 Plymouth High School Lacrosse Teams look to build on their recent achievements. In only four seasons of varsity competition the boys team has played in the State Tournament in 2006 & 2007 while the girls reached tournament in 2007 & 2008.
Plymouth High School Lacrosse currently competes as co-operative teams with players from both North and South. We have recently been denied co-operative status beginning in the Spring of 2010 and beyond. Therefore, we are required to field separate boys and girls teams at each of our high schools next spring. This will require an even greater level of funding.
You may not be aware of the fact that the Plymouth Public Schools budget does not provide funding for girls or boys lacrosse at the high school level. All funding for the programs is provided by generous donors. Each year the parents support group, P.H.S.L Fundraising Committee, Ltd. is challenged with raising over $20,000 so the student athletes can compete. During this year we will need to raise even more funds for 2010. Without your help the lacrosse program cannot exist. Come join us in our efforts!
